Welcome to Our Lady of Peace Parish!
by Jeffrey Arrowood - Tuesday, 29 September 2009, 01:21 PM

Our Lady of Peace Parish in Marshfield, WI, has commissioned me to write a confirmation program for them on the Seven Gifts of the Holy Spirit. Once it is written and posted, it will be available for sale to all parishes and interested parties (home schoolers, etc). Meanwhile, OLP is exercising great patience as I write these lessons. They are using them almost as soon as I complete them. Thank you for your patience, your dedication to our youth and the great feedback I know I'll get to make this program even better!

by Jeffrey Arrowood - Saturday, 26 September 2009, 10:11 PM

Assumption high school is the first to use the Dear Brother Thomas Curriculum in Moral Theology in the classroom (outside of Columbus High School, where I first used it). I wish them great success and thank them for their feedback to help me make this curriculum as good as it can be!

Welcome to Stevens Point Home Schoolers!
by Jeffrey Arrowood - Wednesday, 3 June 2009, 09:16 PM

The Stevens Point area home school association has become the first group to pilot From the Abbey's literature course. They have elected to run the course for an entire semester, and then to run the United States history course in the second semester. You will notice that a private online classroom is reserved just for them.

If you are a home school family and would like to know more about From the Abbey's course offerings, contact Jeff (jeff@fromtheabbey.com).

Welcome to the Abbey Classrooms! My name is Brother Thomas. I am in charge of the educational programs here at the Abbey. In the Classrooms you will find free studies, such as our study guides and commentaries for Church documents. You will also find some more indepth courses that you can pay to access. These include teacher resource centers for Catholic school teachers, home schooling parents and parish catechists. They will also include self-directed lessons that you can use at home to learn more about your faith. We are developing more programs all the time, so check back often!

temperament

Our mostly permanent inborn disposition that influences how we interact with the world, especially emotionally. The temperament is part of our personality that we inherit from our parents. A temperament is difficult to change, but we are able to shape our temperaments and to overcome the tendencies they form within us. There are four basic temperaments (sanguine, choleric, melancholic and choleric). Most people have a dominant temperament and a secondary.

Read more about the temperaments in The Temperament God Gave You from the Bookstore.
