Another main point from the "Creation: the Original Covenant" lesson is
Human beings are created in the image of God - reflecting his Divine Attributes - and we are especially created to receive His Truth and Goodness, and to Love.
How can you live this lesson out in practical ways? Here are some ideas:
- If you have children in your life - your own children, grandchildren, nieces, nephews, friends - have you ever noticed how they are drawn to the idea of being a prince or a princess? This is probably mostly due to Disney, but it's a good thing! Teach the children in you life that they really are princes and princesses - in the Kingdom of God! We all are! Through Jesus, we are sons of God and heirs to the Kingdom! Live this truth by respecting your own dignity and the dignity of others, and model being a prince or a princess to the children!
- Whenever you find yourself struggling to learn about your faith, focus on getting to know God rather than on learning the doctrine. Let growing in intimacy with God be your motivation and your guide to what is important to learn.
- Take your learning to prayer. The best way to make the connection between learning and intimacy with God is to use the lessons you learn in prayer. Eventually I'll offer some guidance on how to do this, based on the instruction of St Francis de Sales. Until then, let the Holy Spirit be your guide!
I'll add more ways to live out this lesson as the course develops. I hope you will also share some of your ideas in the comments below! Also, please let us know how your experience of these ideas go!
